the little ones
making a friend is a beautiful thing. made that way because it is effortless, sweet and fulfilling. this would describe my friendship with onyi, we were introduced by a mutual friend of ours about 3 years ago.. We were both new immigrants in Saint John at that time, she just moved to Canada about a year before we met from Ireland. She was also recovering from just giving birth to her 3rd child (Dubem) when we first met, I remembered holding that baby in my hand, he was so small, so tender... and little did I know, he and his brothers stole my heart and Tim's heart, Dubem was the first baby tim's held. I spent a lot of time at her place, as I helped her babysit her kids for a little while, I saw Dubem growing, from being a new born to a crawling - talking - walking and running toddler. Watching Tim play, run and cuddle around with the kids is an unspeakable joy, they brought a beautiful calm and peace in our chaos. we will miss you, kiddos! :)
so before they leave the province, tim and i wanted to spend some time with the kids, so we had an ice cream/park/basketball/bowling/running around date. tim and i also managed to take a few photos of them, hoping to keep the memories alive as long as we can before they turn into a grown up in no time. we know we are going to miss them so much! and onyi too of course. :) i feel like i made a good friend, the simple, effortless kind of friend where if we were not to see each other for years and years it would still be the same. but hoping for much, much sooner. :)
we love you, Zikora, Osita & Dubem
love,
Tim & Jilly
